The market finished last week on a high. All indexes finished higher with the main index finishing up 143 points to close out the week at 7761.71. The MSCI Taiwan index closed at 14.46 finishing the week almost flat after a drop on Wednesday.

The Rebar Group’s (力霸集團) scandal continues to dominate the financial news on the island. On Saturday, a Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) spokesman stated that then MOEA would lend a hand in investigating the Chinese bank scandal.
